Obesity is a complex medical issue that usually occurs due to more than just one thing being “wrong” or “off” – it’s often a combination of things influenced by our biology, environment, lifestyle, and behaviors. And contrary to popular belief, it’s not just about what you eat or how much you exercise.
An obesity medicine physician (like Dr. Kabir) will medically assess a patient to develop and implement an evidence-based, targeted, comprehensive, and personalized plan to reach health goals through weight loss.
The goal of obesity medicine is to help patients achieve safe, effective, and long-lasting weight loss results, but certain health achievements can’t necessarily be defined by the numbers on the scale (aka non-scale victories), and the scale itself really can’t tell us how healthy a person is. This is why Dr. Kabir’s ultimate goal and philosophy is to help you understand, gain, and celebrate health beyond the scale!

…but I usually go by Dr. Kabir.
I’m a practicing physician, board-certified in both family medicine and obesity medicine, who has personally struggled with obesity and overweight for over 30 years.
I love learning about, teaching, and helping people find healthy, sustainable, and effective tools to successfully improve their overall health, including how to lose weight and maintain weight loss.
